SamTrans L’il Monsters
We created a series of 8 videos for SamTrans. Called "L'l Monsters", each spot features a “little Monster” behaving badly on a bus. Not only does this series show off Castaway’s creativity in designing and animating these characters interacting with humans, but it also shows how much can be done with sound effects, foley and the right music, as we shot these videos MOS. Added to the right sounds in this one are some great practical effects (a leaf blower blowing back the girl’s hair) and After Effects for the shaking of the whole bus by the music.

Yes. The not so bright neighbor has a wife who is smarter than him... watch her learn from a master of artificial turf!
I love the performances in this one, but also credit some great production techniques for the overall quality of this spot. The use of large silks to soften the lighting over the entire lawn, prime lenses for that cinematic softness and fall off and the layers of ambient sounds added in post - the birds, the sounds of a gas mower. It all comes together for the classic payoff.
